GAINESVILLE – Two area residents were arrested March 25 following an altercation tied to a DoorDash delivery that escalated into a reported firearm incident at a Gainesville mobile home community.

According to an arrest report from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at about 11:55 a.m. to Brittany Estates, 5010 N.E. Waldo Road, after a woman reported that a firearm had been displayed during a dispute over a food delivery.

The woman told deputies she had ordered food through DoorDash but had difficulty locating the driver, identified in the app as “Jacquez.” The two exchanged messages before agreeing to meet when the driver was unable to find her lot number.

When the driver arrived, an argument began between the woman, 27-year-old Jaquez De’onte Keith of Alachua and 26-year-old Calista Nicole Crenshaw of Micanopy, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

During the dispute, the woman began recording the encounter on her cellphone. According to the arrest report, the video shows Crenshaw retrieving a black handgun from the passenger side of the vehicle and pointing it toward the woman while yelling. The woman told deputies she feared for her safety.

Investigators reported that Crenshaw then moved into the driver’s seat and left the scene in the vehicle, while Keith initially walked away. Deputies were unable to locate Keith at the complex and believed he had later been picked up by Crenshaw before law enforcement arrived.

Deputies later located both individuals at One51 Place apartments, 15100 N.W. 150th Court in Alachua. After being advised of their Miranda rights, both reportedly told deputies they had gone to a relative’s residence following the incident. According to the report, Keith entered the home and left the firearm on a table.

With consent from the homeowner, deputies recovered the firearm, which investigators said matched the one seen in the cellphone video.

Crenshaw was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence and improperly exhibiting a firearm. Authorities said she has no prior criminal convictions. Judge Meshon Rawls ordered her held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office seeking pretrial detention. If that motion is denied, bail will be addressed at a later hearing.

Keith was charged with tampering with evidence. He also has no prior criminal convictions and was released on his own recognizance, according to court records.

The case remains under investigation.
