Nancy Lynn Mayer, 69, passed away suddenly June 19, 2013 at her home in Fort White, Fla.

A Memorial Service will be held at Evans-Carter Funeral Home, 220 N. Main Street in High Springs, Fla., Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 6 p.m.

Mrs. Mayer was born in Royal Oak, Mich., to Herbert and Helen Chalker December 14, 1943. She went to High School at Dondero High School and graduated in 1960. She moved to Fort White with her family in 1981 and was owner of CB Tube Rental. She volunteered at Fort White Elementary School for seven years. In 1994 she started working in the Floral Department at Winn Dixie and later sold the Tube Center, and retired December 14, 2012. She enjoyed travel with her family and was a devoted Miami Dolphins fan taking on the name “Dolfans Extrodinare.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Chalker and Helen Hauger, and son-in-law, Kristofer A. Herschleb.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frederick Lee Mayer of Fort White; daughters Leila Mayer of Ogden, Utah, and Eva Lynn Herschleb of Fort White; son, Frederick (Diane) Mayer, Jr. of Fort White; grandchildren, Lisa Minisall, Staff Sergeant Justin Minisall, Scott Fischer and Kameron Herschleb; four great-grandchildren; and brothers Larry Hauger and Ross Morningstar.

Winn Dixie and Thompson’s Flower Shop in High Springs are handling the floral arrangements.
