ALACHUA – Police are investigating an overnight shooting that damaged a business, several vehicles and a nearby home but caused no injuries, according to the Alachua Police Department.
Officers responded about 11:12 p.m. April 5, 2026, to two calls reporting roughly 10 gunshots in the 7400 block of Northwest 128th Place in the Oaks of Hague subdivision. Police searched the area but did not locate any people, vehicles or evidence at that time.
At about 10:20 a.m. April 6, the owner of Trinity Car Sales LLC, 12559 N.W. U.S. Highway 441, reported that the business’s front door had been shattered.
Responding officers found multiple bullet holes in the building and in several vehicles on the property, police said. The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Forensics Unit assisted in processing the scene.
While officers were still on scene, police received a report from a nearby residence behind the business. The homeowner reported bullet holes in the house, and officers recovered projectiles from the structure as evidence.
The investigation is ongoing.
