Maudine Lee Douglas

Maudine Lee Douglas, 84, a longtime Gilchrist County resident, passed away on Saturday morning, Aug. 27, 2016 at NFRMC in Gainesville following a lengthy illness.

She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of High Springs, Florida. Mrs. Douglas retired from General Electric/Gates Energy after 30 years of service. Her hobbies included quilting, crafts, spending time with her family (grandchildren), and cooking for her family using many recipes from her cookbook collection. She was the final sibling of the Lee family.

Mrs. Douglas is survived by her son, Donald Douglas of High Springs; daughter, Wanda Hudson of Ft. White, Floirda; grandchildren Kitty (Chris) Thornton, Kevin (Cori) Douglas, Kurt Douglas, Michael (Brittany) Hudson, and Tammy Hudson; seven great- grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

The Douglas family will receive guests at a visitation on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Evans Carter Funeral Home, 18724 North Main Street, High Springs, with a Funeral Service the following day, Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, High Springs.

Kevin Muse

Kevin Muse, 53 of High Springs, Florida, passed on Aug. 25, 2016. He is survived by family and friends. Mr. Muse was an employee of Dollar General Distribution Center.

Lillian Ann Deal

Mrs. Lillian Ann Deal, 62 of High Springs, Florida, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016 after a long illness.

Mrs. Deal was born in Elwood City, Pennsylvania. She moved to High Springs in 1955 at the age of 2. She worked at Barbers Auto Service and Alice’s Restaurant for many years. Her grandchildren and family were her life. She was Protestant.

She is survived by sons, Darrell (Lee) Timberlake of Gainesville, Florida, DeWayne Timberlake of Lake City, Florida, and Cody Deal of High Springs; daughter, Amanda Deal Grayer of High Springs; mother, Delores Barber of High Springs; and grandchildren Rett, Hailey, Aubree, Trevor, Cameron, Lilyah and Liam. She was preceded in death by son Eddie Deal; sister Darlene Freeman; brother Lee Frishkorn and father Derlwood Barber.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 29603 NW 142nd Avenue, High Springs, FL 32643.

Pearlie Lee Anderson

Pearlie Lee Anderson, 91 of High Springs, Florida, passed on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016.
She was preceded in death by daughter Daisy Wilson Posser.  Ms. Anderson is survived by devoted children: Lennard Wilson (Sharon), Gainesville, Florida, Amos Davis, High Springs, Annette Davis Jones (Ernest), Jacksonville, Florida.
Viewing for Ms. Anderson will be held Friday, Aug. 19, 2016 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1560 N.W. 1st Avenue, High Springs. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, 1 p.m. at Williams Tabernacle Church of God by Faith, 1605 N.W. 1st Avenue, High Springs. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, High Springs.

Effie Lane Flynn

Effie Lane Flynn, 94, of Fort White, Florida, passed away Aug. 9, 2016 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Care Center in Lake City, Florida. Effie was born Jan. 15, 1922 to William and Mardie Lane.

She is survived by three sons, Orrin Kohn Jr. of Fort White, Harry C. Kohn of Kuna, Idaho, and Alton L. Kohn of Ft. White; three daughters, Patsy LeJune of Monroe, Georgia, Earlene Fraze and Mary Frances Shaw both of Bryceville, Florida; two brothers, James G. Lane of Macclenny, Florida, and Marion Lane of Jacksonville, Florida, and a sister Catherine Vinning of Starke, Florida, as well as 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Fort White Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 12 at 3 p.m.
