ORLANDO – Girls ages 10 – 18 with Vision Volleyball Club of Gainesville attended the 39th Annual AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships June 19-27 at both the ESPN Wide World of Sports and the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Over 1,700 teams competed in the multi-day event, including those coming from the United States, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and China.
Vision 14 National Black went 10-1 in this national event, tying for 9th out of 144 teams in the 14-club division. By the third day they were the only Florida 14’s team that remained undefeated. Players are#2 Kelsey Harris, #3 Sydney Richeson, #4 Kate Hellkamp, #5 Cary Emerson, #7 Kiki Sermons, #13 Emily Maule, #9 Gabby O'Connell, #10 Sofia Reed, #12 Geena Schafer, #17 Emily Louie-Meaders and #18 Lexus McCray. The team’s head coach is Stephanie Wyatt and assistant coaches are Kris Gibson and Cari Martin.
