SECTION 1 - ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDPROJECT: Newberry CDBG Drainage ImprovementsJOB NO: 19

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that City of Newberry, Florida will open sealed bids at 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, Friday, May 11, 2012, in the Newberry City Hall, located at 25440 W Newberry Rd. Newberry, FL 32669 for the City's CDBG Drainage Improvement project. Bids will be accepted no later than 10:00 A.M. (local time) Friday, May 11, 2012.The proposed work includes the construction of ditch bottom inlets (DBIs) along NW 8th Ave as well as a storm sewer trunk line. The storm sewer trunk line will run along the North side of NW 8th Ave and then run North adjacent to the Railroad Right-of-Way in an easement procured by the City of Newberry. The storm sewer trunk line will outfall into an existing Stormwater Management Facility (SWMF) in Newberry Commercial Park (ERP00-0289). The SWMF is proposed to be excavated 4 ft below the existing basin bottom. Sealed bid offers in two (2) copies for furnishing the aforestated work will be received and accepted by Connie Goode, General Service Administrator, at the Newberry City Hall, 25440 West Newberry Road, Newberry, Florida 32669; until the above stipulated date and time for opening of sealed bids. For all hand-delivered bids, the City Hall office is open, on normal workdays, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Copies of the Contract Documents and Project Specifications, all bound together, Construction Drawings, a surveyed layout of the project limits, a geotechnical site exploration report, the water management district permit exemption, and temporary construction easement agreements are on file and available for inspection by prospective bidders at the General Services Office, City of Newberry, 120 NW 260th Street, Newberry, Florida 32669; Telephone Number (352) 472-8149. A copy of the Contract Documents and Project Specifications and Construction Drawings are available charge of $40.00, none of which will be refunded. Bid offers shall be accompanied by either a Bid Bond or by a Certified Check or a Cashier's Check or an Official Bank Check in the dollar amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount bid as a guarantee to enter into a contract and furnish a contract performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of notification of the award.
